About the Artist

Based in Okoboji, Iowa, Scott Oleson is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Iowa State University in 2008, focusing on fine art and illustration in both traditional and digital media. Scott’s work draws inspiration from nature and combines them with surreal or fantastical elements to create work in a style often described as Surreal or Imaginative Realism.

In addition to fine art, he applies his skills to other design disciplines, including landscape and nature photography, graphic design, and scratch-built 3D print designs.

When not in the studio, Scott can be found hiking local trails and sketching ideas for future projects.
